Be Ye Therefore Perfect

Be ye therefore perfect, what a daunting task.
You’ll find it in God’s service then in His glory bask.
In this you’ll find power to overcome all things.
In this you’ll find love, a love the Savior brings.

Be ye therefore humble, humble in the Lord.
Then go forth and serve God by spreading forth his word.
In this you’ll find power to overcome all things.
In this you’ll find love, a love the Savior brings.

Be ye therefore grateful in both word and deed.
You’ll find the Lord will bless you in your need.
In this you’ll find power to overcome all things.
In this you’ll find love, a love the Savior brings.

Be ye therefore perfect, what a noble goal.
By ye therefore perfect, perfect in your soul.
In this you’ll find power to overcome all things.
In this you’ll find love, a love the Savior brings.

Nickels and Dimes

Ten percent, what a small and meager request
I’ll pay in faith, because I know that I’ll be blessed.
Nickels and dimes, from everyone’s income
Nickels and dimes, the Lord will build His kingdom.

Ten percent, I will pay it in good cheer
When I stand up in faith, I have nothing to fear.
Nickels and dimes, from all of God’s children
Nickels and dimes, I’ll strengthen my foundation.

Ten percent, after all that God does give me
Ten percent, and I shall pay it freely.
Dollars and big bills is what I have taken
Nickels and dimes, so they are not forsaken.

The Road I Have Traveled

I came forth from the water a clean and humble man,
With a new appreciation, for the mercy in God’s plan.
This plan is full of wisdom, it was written with God’s love.
This path demands my patience, and guidance from above.

This road that I have traveled I have traveled in my pride.
I thought I had a family but now none are by my side.
I thought that I’d be happy with ignoring others’ pain.
But being that secluded was driving me insane.

That road that I did travel ended in a “T”
And I was left with two options as to the man that I could be.
I started to the left, but was told to choose the right
By two clean-cut men that were dressed in black and white.

I came forth from the water having been reborn.
I’ll comfort those that need it and mourn with those that mourn.
I’ll take upon me burdens from others that I love
Then gain a giant strength from a loving God above.

This road that I now travel, is a straight and narrow one,
That I will choose to walk along, until the war is won,
This road that I now travel, runs with an iron rod,
And I will hold it firmly, until I hold my God!

At Fights End

The fight was long, and full of pain,
The pain was worth, what i did gain,
I gained the chance, to live as a king,
And of my God, In praises sing,

The fight was long, and full of tears,
But a loving God, Has calmed my fears,
He sent His son, to live with men,
And if we hear, We'll live again,

The fight was long, or so I thought,
But with his blood, My soul was bought,
Now I return, to heaven's sod,
Where I will live, live with my God!

Saving Grace

In this pit, I live my life,
I bring about my worldly strife,
I justify my words and deeds,
Neglecting all my spiritual needs,

I live within the laws of man,
Forgetting about the Gospel plan,
I forge and fight with my own hand,
To watch my joy, fall like sand,

In the end, I have just pain,
For I have lost, what I could gain,
But God's own son, has ransomed me,
He calmly waits to hears my plea,

And if i fall, beneath my pride,
I'll find that He, is at my side,
Then in his hands, I'll find a call,
And through his strength, I'll never fall.

The Duty of Men

It is the job of any man,
To love and serve, As to God's plan,
To give of time, blood, sweat, and tears,
To put aside one's worldly fears,

It is the job, of a son of God,
To cling unto, the Iron rod,
And live a life to make mom beam,
To earn a spot, on Heaven's team,

It is the Job of any mother's son,
To find a girl, To call his hun,
To know that she is always right,
Then love and serve, and NEVER fight,

It is the Job, Of any girl's guy,
To find a ring, And then to buy,
To take that girl, With him to wed,
Then by their God, In faith be lead.

The call to arms

On right and left, We've felt the heat,
As our brothers fall and die,
While Satan's drums pound out a beat,
And mothers begin to cry,

The call to arms, has filled the air,
Our enemies align,
The time to fight, is here not there,
Stop waiting for a sign,

Our cause is just, We cannot lose,
So turn from worldly lust,
To check the time, It's time to choose,
And in our savior trust!

The Path of Sin

While upon the path of sin,
I'll try really hard, but fail to win,
I'll live within the chains that bind,
I'll search for peace, but never find,

While upon the path of men,
I'll try to win, But fail again,
I'll curse the ground and kick the dust,
While filled with so much hate and lust,

While upon this Trodden trail,
I'll begin to cry, But refuse to fail,
I'll check the maps, I'll search all day,
I'll look to find a happier way,

Then once I leave that Rotten Road,
I'll find a man to share my load,
To Him my load, will feel quite light,
Then arm in arm, we'll walk all night,

Then from within, I'll start to feel,
A love with strength, and power to heal,
That's when I'll know, with whom I trod,
And I'll fall to His feet, and kiss my God!

He heard the call

He Heard The Call
He loved his wife, and little boy,
And in his life, he knew great joy,
until the day, he heard the call,
And in his heart he could not stall,

As he watched, he chocked back tears,
Then hugged his wife, to calm her fears,
All that night, he couldn't sleep,
As he pictured, those grown men weep,

It was that night, he heard the call,
And in his heart, he could not stall,
He kissed his wife, and hugged his son,
Then he stood in line, to get his gun,

The days flew by, or so it would seem,
And now his boy, has become a teen,
He loves his son, With all his heart,
But there is so much time, that they're apart,

This is the life of those that fight,
And we'll wish them home, with all our might,
To all of you, of whom i write,
Your safe return is our delight!

As I Sit

As I Sit
As i sit, Among my friends,
I forget about, the worldly trends,
And focus on the little things,
To enjoy the love, the Spirit brings,

As i sit, Among my peers,
I forget about my worldly fears,
And feel the love, of my God,
And cling unto, the iron rod,

As i speak, with those who care,
I forget about, How life's unfair,
I set aside, that natural greed,
And look to serve, all those in need,

As i'm taught, by those who know,
I forget about my worldly foe,
And of his faults, I must forgive,
Then with that love, go forth and live,

I've grown so much, Throughout my life,
and overcome much worldly strife,
But my success, is not my own,
And with my God, All love is known

NFL NETWORK!

On the couch, on which I sit,
Total Access is my show,
To see Eisen run the sprint,
Makes me yell, GO GO!

On the Couch, on which I lay,
NFL network on my screen,
Mayock says which men to pay,
And Sanders dance is seen,

On the couch on which I rest,
A helmet, Casserly has got,
Sapp's smile is by far the best,
And Lindsay Soto is SOOOO HOT!

In The Stands

In the stands of which we sit,
The game is all we need,
To see their coach throw a fit,
And of his players plead,

In the stands of which we sit,
The game is all we want,
To see our D ends chomp the bit,
As the QB they do haunt,

In the stands of which we sit,
The game is all we need,
To hear of owners throwing fits,
Tells us of their greed!

On The Field

On the Field, on which men play,
Falls the sweat of men,
And from the crowd we hear them say,
Fight, Fight, Win,

On the Field, on which men play,
The battle rages on,
and of the backs that block the way,
The legend, he is gone,

On the Field, on which men play,
The legend takes a breath,
For he has reached the dirt of pay,
and for the defense, this is death!

While Upon The Road Less Traveled

It seems the road less traveled,
Is oft considered graveled,
and if you take this rocky trail,
Your lot is hard, you’re bound to fail,
It seems the path less taken,
is narrow and forsaken,
and if you take this rocky road,
your forced to pull a heavy load,
When you take the mentioned trail,
you gain support from beyond the veil,
fore when you pass this wondrous test,
your trials are light, your life is blessed,
When you pass the last milestone,
You’ll find yourself at his throne,
He is the one that forged the lane,
and took upon him every pain,
You’ll find yourself at his seat,
So bow your head and kiss his feet,
and as you passed upon the length,
He was the source of all your strength.

The Captain of Fate

The other night, my friend and i were having a discussion about the poem, "Invictus."  He was of the opinion that the poem was inspiring and was a great poem about the attitude in which we should approach life.  However, i believe the poem to be written beautifully, but i much more agree with Orson F. Whitney who wrote a response to the poem "Invictus."

The souls Captain
Art thou in truth?
Then what of Him who bought thee with His blood?
Who plunged into devouring seas
And snatched thee from the flood,
Who bore for all our fallen race
What none but Him could bear-
That God who died that man might live
And endless glory share.
Of what avail thy vaunted strength
Apart from His vast might?
Pray that His light may pierce the gloom
That thou mayest see aright.
Men are as bubbles on the wave,
As leaves upon the tree,
Thou, captain of thy soul! Forsooth,
Who gave that place to thee?
Free will is thine-free agency,
To wield for right or wrong;
But thou must answer unto Him
To whom all souls belong.
Orson F Whitney

Now, that being said, This is my response to "Invictus."

The Captain of Fate
I am the captain of my fate,
but without my God i'm always late,
He is the engine on my ship
and without his strength, this boat would flip,
he drives me forth and pushes me on,
without his help, my strength is gone,
I am the master of my life,
But without his help, I'd know all strife,
He is the strength that pushes me,
and through his love, I am set free,
He is my sense of good direction,
and through obedience, i gain protection,
I am the author of this story,
Without his help, I'd not know glory,
He is the one with power to edit,
and through his plan, i gain all credit,
He funds the book of which i write,
and gives me the strength to write all night!

Called To Serve

Called To Serve
Called to serve, the king of Kings,
To leave behind my worldly things,
To leave my home and serve abroad,
To bring all men to the iron rod,
Called to serve, the most high God,
To bring his sheep, to gospel Sod,
to go and serve my fellow man,
and tell the world of this happy plan,
Called to serve my heavenly father,
And leave behind all worldly bothers,
To leave behind the girls that love me,
And become the man they want to marry,
Called to serve with all my might,
and spread the words of truth and light,
to teach the people in my mission,
and bring to them a gospel vision,
Called to serve and serve some more,
to bear my heart to closing doors,
to lift up those who cannot rise,
and bring to them an eternal prize.

In that fight

In That Fight

In that fight, they fight for us,
Every step they take, is done in trust,
They push past their fears and leave their homes,
To fight with might, for their friends and foes,

In that fight, they miss so much,
Though it hurts right now, they keep in touch,
While days fly by, and teeth get pulled,
The things soldiers miss, are the stories to be told,

In that fight, they make real pals,
Friends for life, both boys and gals,
Side by side, they fight and live,
And by some, their lives, they give,

In that fight, they gave their lives,
They leave behind kids, husbands, and wives,
In this fight, they gain their rest,
AND TO ALL OUR SOLDIERS, you are the BEST!

Thanks to all those men and women who have taken the time to serve our wonderful nation.  To all of our veterans, Thank You!

Gethsemane

On the Path to Gethsemane,
I wonder if He thought of me,
I wonder if He spoke my name,
I wonder if i cried in shame,

On that day in olden times,
I wonder if He knew my crimes,
I wonder if He knelt in pause,
to think of all the pain I'd cause,

I think of how i hurt Him deep,
I think i may have made Him weep,
I think of all the things I've done,
I thinks of battles, lost and won,

I think of the love that He had to feel,
as He stopped and began to kneel,
I think of all the things He'd done,
I think of the War, He has already won,

Oh His love, how it amazes me,
Oh His love, how it humbles me,
Oh how i love what He did for me,
On that night in Gethsemane!
